NEET-UG 2025 : Supreme Court Dismisses Plea Challenging Results & Answer Key

The Supreme Court on Friday dismissed a petition challenging the final answer key and the results of the NEET-UG 2025 exam, which was conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The supreme court bench comprising Justices PS Narasimha and R. Mahadevan dissmiss the petition filed by Shivam Gandhi Raina, a candidate who raised concerns over an alleged mistake in the answer provided for Question No. 136, Code No. 47.

In his petition Raina contested that the answer marked by the NTA was incorrect, and he sought a review of the results. The supreme court  during the proceedings noted that a similar petition had already been dismissed earlier. Justice Narasimha, while addressing the petitioner’s lawyer, Senior Advocate R. Balasubramaniam, acknowledged the possibility that there could be multiple valid answers to the question in question. However, the Court made it clear that they were not willing to interfere with the outcome of an all-India exam at this stage.

Justice Narasimha explained that such an intervention could lead to substantial disruption in the results, given the nationwide impact and the potential for creating confusion. The bench emphasized that the timing of the challenge made it impractical to revise the results or answer key at this point. Consequently, the Court dismissed the plea, upholding the integrity of the NEET-UG 2025 examination results.
